• What are VISION Student Events?
VISION events are for students from 6-12th grade. They are hosted by the Mizzou BSU as a part of our partnership with the Little Bonne Femme Baptist Association. However, we invite churches from all denominations to participate, as we feel that the body of Christ can and should work together across denominational lines. We design our events especially for small church ministries with part-time or volunteer youth ministers. We know that their job is tough – planning and implementing events is difficult, time-consuming work. So, we design the events for them to be able just to show up to the events with their students and be assured of a high-quality, exciting and affordable event that will teach their students how to look more like Jesus while at the same time equipping the leader to be more effective when s/he returns home.
• Do we have to be Baptist?
No! We have groups of all denominations that already attend our events. The VISION experience is geared towards bringing youth students closer to Jesus no matter their background!
• What makes VISION different from other retreats?
Our retreats are high energy, extremely creative, and our college student leaders are able to develop lasting mentoring relationships with students in the small group setting.
• Is VISION affordable for my church?
VISION events are produced with extreme excellence. We capitalize on the unique strengths and talents of our volunteer staff, making it possible for us to keep our VISION events affordable for those churches operating under limited budgets. Our past events have been around $45.
• As a leader, what will I receive from the weekend?
VISION events are organized and implemented entirely by volunteer college students and Mizzou BSU Staff. We pride ourselves in being able to provide leadership development training for your church group leaders throughout the weekend by an experienced professional. It’s an unique time of sharing and learning amongst youth ministry colleagues.
