VISION: Distortion will feature large group worship and small group discussions designed to help students process what they are learning. This retreat we will look at how our lives may be distorted. Over and over again we see people in the Bible who are selfish, violent, and manipulative. God's will gets blurry and morals are unclear. It's similar to having a document and making a copy of a copy of a copy. The images are no longer clear and the words are difficult to read. It is distorted. In order to get a clear picture of what the document says we need to look at the original. The same is true for serving God. We see things differently when we look at the world from our human perspective rather than looking at what God wants for the world. What does God want for humanity, and how can we be a part of that? We will explore this through music, teaching, and creative presentations intended to help students engage in the message of the weekend. The small groups provide opportunities for students to delve deeper into the topic and allow them to process it at their age and gender appropriate levels.
